The 49th Street Redevelopment Plan proposes creating a historic neighborhood theme centered on the old Trolley route, including a replica Trolley as an attraction at 49th Street and Tangerine Avenue South. Named Trolley Market Square, the project links the area’s history with local businesses. The Tangerine Greenway, a park in Gulfport’s northern neighborhoods, features a multi-use pathway connecting 49th Street to Tomlinson Park, with paved and bridge sections. The east end, near Trolley Market Square, has been a hub for community events and a weekend market.
